Now I am one smart dog, after all I am almost 3 years old, but these holidays are a bit confusing to me. Every year around this time of year we pull out all my bunny and lamb toys and sometimes wait in line to see a HUGE rabbit.
The two-leggers often eat chocolate eggs that ooze out sweet smelling creams and tell me no-no you can’t have that! Well, if there is a real Easter Bunny I know he would surely let me have one of those chocolate bunnies too. So this year I am sending him a letter to ask for a carob chocolate egg.
I even have sent him the recipe! If you would like to try it out please feel free to mix some up this easter for your four-legger.
Grain Free PB & Carob Pup Egg Recipe
- 1 banana
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. natural, unsweetened peanut butter
- 1 1/2 c. Garbanzo Bean Flour
- 1 c. Carob Chips
- Per-heat the oven 350 F (you can line the baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with PAM
- Mash up the banana until silky smooth (the ripe ones work well)
- Add in the Peanut Butter and Eggs, stir til well blended
- Mix in the flour
Roll out dough onto a lightly floured surface to 3/16″ – 1/4″ thick.
Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. I want mine to be egg shaped but you can make it into any shape you would like.
Cut paw prints out of each cookie.
Bake 10 minutes, flip… bake for 5 – 10 minutes more til a light golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Once cookies are cool to touch. Melt the carob chips, stirring constantly. Remove the carob from heat just before you think it is fully melted.
Fill a piping bag, with melted carob. Fill each paw opening with carob and allow to cool until hard set. If you do not want to do paw prints you can cover the top of the egg shape and make it look like the carob is melting down the cookie!
