I had such fun learning all about my breeds: They told me I was a MIKI (supposedly a Maltese/Japanese Chin/Papillon but when the DND came back I found out I was:
42.9% Maltese
27.3% Shih Tzu
15.6% Pekingese
14.2% Pomeranian
Now I am waiting to see who my relative are π Who also got tested. Of course my people said that they would love me NO MATTER what I was. I am happy to report that there is no monster in my DNA … I was surprised because my people sometimes call me a monster when I get hold of a toilet paper roll. See they were wrong!
Happy tail wags
Sadie
We think you are a mix of perfection. Actually we always thought you were all should shih tzu. Xox Lucy and Xena
Oh, thank you π
It’s so fun to hear what our cousin Sadie’s genetic results are! Several of our Mi-kis have been tested with the Embark Breeder’s Test Kit but the breeder’s version does not tell us what breeds contributed. Embark hopes to get enough Mi-kis sampled to come up with a Mi-ki breed profile soon. Whatever the mixture is, we agree that you are perfection, Sadie!
Yes, it is fun and I just love that Embark let you see relatives pics if they have uploaded them. So much fun. I now see where Sadie’s red that comes in every now and again in her coat comes from. I did tell them that sadie was a Miki and where she came from so I hope that helps the breed too. I think only 4 breeds is pretty pure.
When we originally started breeding Mi-Kis we only knew what the breeders before us told us ….. It wasn’t until much later that we found out scientifically what was used… what combination of breeds were actually used to make up the Mi-Ki. There are a couple of companies that now have a Mi-Ki “marker”. I too was surprised with what actually is and ISN’T there…
We hope that this doesn’t change how proud you are of your Sadie. We are incredibly proud of her and see her as a delightful example of what a Mi-Ki should be now and going forward.
Sadie is made of the most precious stock there is LOVE… and that is what MIKI means βΊοΈ
