My DNA results are in: I now know my DOG origins

I had such fun learning all about my breeds: They told me I was a MIKI (supposedly a Maltese/Japanese Chin/Papillon but when the DND came back I found out I was:

42.9% Maltese

27.3% Shih Tzu

15.6% Pekingese

14.2% Pomeranian

Now I am waiting to see who my relative are 🙂 Who also got tested. Of course my people said that they would love me NO MATTER what I was. I am happy to report that there is no monster in my DNA … I was surprised because my people sometimes call me a monster when I get hold of a toilet paper roll. See they were wrong!

Dog DNA Kit EMBARK… I am going to get swabbed

I will let everyone know what my tests come back with. Mom says I might be a munchkin but I do not believe her. 

Puppy Prom : everyone put your tails together and dance

I was invited to a puppy prom! WOW, my tail wagged so hard as I opened a box with a wrist corsage given to me by my BF @littletuckerpup Then I received another package from my good pal Lucy @goldengoose_retriever who knew I had nothing to wear … she sent me this wonderful fairytail cotton candy dress. Where did all this waggable stuff come from you ask… the wonderful people at The Birthday Puppy. @thebirthdaypuppy

This puppy Prom is all for a good cause, to raise money for those less fortunate pups.

Always remember this: Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.

This is true of everything, one small gesture in life can make such a difference. Be kind to each other and help as many as you can be they two legged four legged or even 100 legs… even a centipede might need help.

@thepawtycrew and @roadogs put on this extravaganza for ALL dogs of ANY breed …senior dogs, abandoned dogs, dogs with physical challenges, and even puppies that needs someone to love them.

On St Paddy’s day, Everone is Irish… even the dogs

Irish Setters are so lucky, they get to be Irish every day… but on St. Patrick’s Day everyone, even me can be lucky.

I am one lucky pup for sure. On St Paddy’s day, I get one greenie treat to celebrate. I do not get to take part in the green beers I see the humans drinking but my people do pull out my green bowl so I can pretend I am drinking green beer.

My wish for everyone is that your eyes smile and your day is filled with a wealth of happiness. If you see me driving by in my green car make sure to wave!

Puppy Love: I woof you

It is almost February and my mom says love is in the air. That means I will begin to smell the woof-derful nose twitching kitchen smells of sugar cookies and my favorite dog heart cookies. BUT this year I got something special in the mail. A fun company call thebirthdaypuppy.com sent me this box from a secret crush … a very special delivery.

It was LOVE in a BOX.

If you have a secret crush you can shop at cupid’s corner… they have a ton of stuff I know your crush would just love. I got a rose that actually tells me secrets in little squeaks and a beautiful XOXO banana. My only dilemma is my rose won’t squeal on my secret crushes name until the big reveal on the website. I feel just like the bachelorette on TV!!!

 

 

The Christmas Spirit Lives Here: We learn from our pets

The holidays are here again and everyone is dashing around trying to grab the newest toy or tech gift for the best price and it is EXHAUSTING. Then you come home and find the real meaning of the holidays. It is in a tail wag or a meow at the door. Every day is a holiday for our four-legged pals. Even if you just go into another room and return there is a flurry of thankfulness that is undeniable.

We all need to learn this wonderful holiday spirit that our animals teach us.

Howl-O-ween: the great puppy pumpkin rises again!

SadieMiki sits in a pumpkin. It is preparing for Halloween.

It is that time of year again… when the doorbell rings… again… and again… and again.

What is a BIG (or little) guard dog to do with so many odd creatures of small and medium stature coming to the door? This year we are ready for them! We have devised 2 treat pumpkins at the door. One for the monsters ringing the door and one for the guard dog who after all does deserve a treat for being brave enough to constantly go to the door to see if there is a witch or ghost there.

I think this a very fair way to do it this year. One for you and one or two for me!

My first Mommy Hair Cut: where’s the bandaids

OK we had our first mommy haircut… Mom has a lot of respect for the groomers after this challenge. 
She tried her best… as you can see my paws and legs are uneven but a good first try. She was unable to get my muzzle area near my eyes done very well as that part scares her.

What we did learn from this experience is that since not going to the groomers my tummy and nose cleared up, I must have been allergic to a product that the groomer was using on me because my nose started to get the dark color back and my tummy got all pink again.

But at one point something horrible happened while we were using the scissors. Mom gave out this big yelp… I thought I had done something wrong. We had to get tons of band-aids… mom had cut her hand instead of my hair… making a smiley face on the outer fleshy part of her left hand. Mom says it wasn’t anything to smile about … we had to glue it back together. I thought maybe that would end mom’s want to give me baths but she seems to be still into baths and beauty treatments.
