sadies-pbnpupcream

I am working on my PupScout Ice Cream Badge and have a recipe to share with everyone. Now this recipe is not for the faint of stomach, there is a waiting period for eating this wonderful PupCream.

1. Pick out some nice ripe B.A.N.A.N.A.S! 3 to be exact.

2. Peel them naked.

(you might need your paw-rents help here)

HERE IS THE HARD PART…PUT THEM ON ICE AND FREEZE OVERNIGHT-NIGHT.

NITE, NITE BANANAS… see you in 24 hours!

3. Blend Bananas in

the food processor

3. Add in 1 Tablespoon of creamy peanut butter

SERVE IMMEDIATELY or place in a container and freeze for a firmer treat. I eat mine rignt away! No time like the present to give yourself a tasty treat. If you like, you can add in strawberries or blueberriess too! I like mine classic.

YUM YUM YUM

now that’s one tasty PUPCREAM

ENJOY!!!
PS
the two-leggers like this mixture too,
so make sure to finish your bowl or they may eat it!
love ya  Miss Sadie

sadieandthefairyprinceSometimes life’s struggles and complications can really get our two-legged people down and I just wanted to share the secrets we dogs know.

  1. Life is short so see the wonder in everything from a smelly old shoe to a frog in the woods…he may be a prince or the next president of the United States…you never know.
  2. Forget about it, so you didn’t get that raise or the someone accidentally stepped on your tail, in the scheme of things it isn’t worth being mad about it. Be glad…you are wealthy because of all the little things in life, now that’s something to wag your tail about.
  3. Enjoy the ride, don’t keep looking down at the bills, the dirty dishes…stick your head out the window let your tongue and ears flap in the wind…enjoy the little things because they are the important ones.

We dogs snuggle up in the corner of our two-legged people’s heart fur-ever and ever because we dare to believe beyond our reality…we believe it with all our heart.

Sadie turned 4 this month and we all celebrated and discussed how time goes so fast. She got lots of new toys, pretty bows and bandanas and even got to order her own cheese quesadilla at her favorite restaurant.

But when we got home she rushed into the living room to grab her favorite blue ball and gave everyone a chance to toss it for her. The joy and funny looks she gave us made us laugh and realize that we all need to play a little more, laugh a little longer and just slow down and enjoy. Sadie hopes everyone gets a chance to play a little more longer.

Woof: did you hear me…WOOF

My dog speaks in many ways. Sure there is that wagging tail / butt when I leave a room, and no matter how long I am gone 2 hours to 2 seconds I get that same greeting of “oh wow there you are I have missed you soooo much!”

But if I really think about it my dog speaks all the time.

There is that little two syllable whimper when she needs a few more kibbles. And when she wants to play there is this ewok sound she makes just before grabbing a favorite toy. She also has a huffing disgust sound she makes while you are driving and she believes you are going the wrong way or taking too long to get there.

The biggest surprise was when she decided to let out a string of sounds that could only be described as baby gibberish…we had gone to one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants where dogs are welcome on the patio. We sometimes order her a plain cheese quesadilla which she loves. The waiters just love her, bringing out a special water containers every time we come. This time, as the table was ordering she looked at the waiter and started to talk her long gibberish of sounds. Everyone at the table stopped and ordering and started to laugh. “She just ordered!” And so she did because when the plates came out and one was a cheese quesadilla… she made another happy sound.

Does your dog speak to you? Listen carefully, they have a lot to say if you know how to listen.

Minimal Possibilities

the do’s and don’ts of dog diarrhea

As they say SH*T  HAPPENS and we have had our house full of it recently.

It all started with a treat, one of those big beef sticks that you think “wow” was a cool chew, think I will brush my teeth with it. Then you get so excited you gobble it up so not one else will eat it. I know you are probably thinking to yourself “aren’t you the only dog in the house?” “who else would steel your bone” yeah well I will tell you that many a time I have been chewing on a bone that just vanishes into thin air. One minute I am chewing away, the next one of the two-leggers makes a noise or says “did you hear that”? and I turn my head and then it is gone…vanished into thin air. Well, NOT this time! I ate the whole thing before that monster could steal it.

YIKES…I have a tum-tum ache! And then DO-DO HAPPENED. It was coming out of me from both ends. Even the two-leggers were gagging too.

OK so we are on DAY 3 of my horrible ordeal and my people have been very patient with me. So if by any chance you find yourself in this predicament here are some tips to help make you feel better.

REMEMBER BRATY
No that isn’t what you yell at your dog, that is an acronym for what will help you. The biggest concern for a fur friend with DD (Dog Diarrhea) is the BIGGER D Dehydration.
So you need to make sure your fur-ever friend is getting FRESH water and stabilizing their diet with a bland BRAT diet to ease their tum-tum.

B is for Banana
Bananas are a good source for vitamin K, potassium, and other vitamins and minerals.
I of course do not like bananas just peeled out of their skin at room temperature so my two-leggers freeze them in small pieces for me…this makes them yummier.

R is for Rice
White Rice is as bland as it gets, and it is also a source of soluble fiber. It absorbs water as it passes through the GI track, which will help harden stool and add bulk. I like my rice with a little boiled chicken for a little added protein.

A is for Applesauce
Plain unsweetened applesauce will help with hydration because it has a lot of liquid. you can make your own in a blender (4-5 apples peeled and cubed with 1 cup of water brought to a simmer on the stove then place into a blender or food processor until smooth) or you can go to the grocery store baby food aisle and buy a little jar of unsweetened applesauce.

T is for Toast
Now bread is NOT something you want to give a dog all the time but when you have a tum-tum that is upset toasted bread can ease the grumbles and help bind you.My twoleggers add in a little smear of peanut butter to help tempt me.

Y is for Yogurt
Yogurt to restore the good bacteria in the intestinal tract. My people get my yogurt semi frozen because they know I like it that way.

May you never need to remember BRATY but when you do it is a very helpful acronym to have on hand.

Sadie Miki the wonder dog helping Batman save the city … R is now for Rover 🙂

We four-legged are all superheroes of one sort or another. Just look at the reality of it… we possess extraordinary talents. My supernatural phenomena is being able to eat a treat in one mouthful. Think about the symbolic moral goal of it… I am protecting the public both two-legged and four-legged of forbidden calories.  With one whoosh of my mouth the calories are defeated and can no longer hurt others. And you guessed it my mask is that I am not really a “dog” I am a four-legged wonder called Sadie. Now go forth and save human kind by joining me in gobbling up all the treats you can find!

Until our next adventure! Stay tuned.

SADIEBARKBOXI am now an official BarkBox member.

Today the mailman came to my door and wowza did I score. I got a hippy box full of goodies. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened it. Of course the first thing to get pulled out was a funny little hippy man that made funny giggle noises. Then I demanded to have the chewy and a few savory duck and pomegranate nuggets. I am guarding this box, all the toys have made the march to my bed, what a fun day.

Thank you www.barkbox.com for the great treats and allowing me to be part of the elite extra toy club! My extra toy was a wild VW Bark Bus!! I am on the road to happiness fur sure!

This frosting dries hard so make sure to shape into what you want while soft
(we are doing hearts today).
