I had such fun learning all about my breeds: They told me I was a MIKI (supposedly a Maltese/Japanese Chin/Papillon but when the DND came back I found out I was:

42.9% Maltese
27.3% Shih Tzu
15.6% Pekingese
14.2% Pomeranian

Screen Shot 2019-06-06 at 12.37.00 PM.pngNow I am waiting to see who my relative are 🙂 Who also got tested. Of course my people said that they would love me NO MATTER what I was. I am happy to report that there is no monster in my DNA … I was surprised because my people sometimes call me a monster when I get hold of a toilet paper roll. See they were wrong!

Happy tail wags

It is almost February and my mom says love is in the air. That means I will begin to smell the woof-derful nose twitching kitchen smells of sugar cookies and my favorite dog heart cookies. BUT this year I got something special in the mail. A fun company call thebirthdaypuppy.com sent me this box from a secret crush … a very special delivery.

It was LOVE in a BOX.

If you have a secret crush you can shop at cupid’s corner… they have a ton of stuff I know your crush would just love. I got a rose that actually tells me secrets in little squeaks and a beautiful XOXO banana. My only dilemma is my rose won’t squeal on my secret crushes name until the big reveal on the website. I feel just like the bachelorette on TV!!!

Sadieicanexplainsanta17.jpgAnother year is wrapping up and we are wrapping up all the presents under the tree. Twice this year there has been a lapse in Sadie’s memory about wrapped presents under the tree. In the middle of the night someone, some elf or someone named Sadie has been unwrapping gifts that smell like bones. She claims it is not her but there have been some tell “tail” signs about the house. Bits of soggy paper near her bed, a loss of appetite in the mornings after the treats have been taken by the unknown elf.

If anyone else has this problem with bad elves that eat presents in the middle of the night please let Sadie know as she is trying to convince us that we need to ask Santa to replace the stolen presents under her tree.

Sadie also would like you to know she does have extra holiday cards and would love to send one to you if you send her your address.

Happy Holidays to all and beware of the bad elf.
Love Sadie

It was a hard candy kinda night last night when Sadie thought she hit the jackpot and quietly  decided to eat an open bag of little “greenies” breath buster bites.

Like any child left alone with their own bag of candy her eyes said one thing and later her tummy said another. So after her YES moment of glory we had to help fix the issue.
spelllonyousadiemiki.jpg
We find that the best remedy is a pumpkin chicken broth rice.
Now chicken broth can be a labor intense pressure cooker process but I will tell you the quick way to create it for your furry friend in need of a tummy fix.

Ingredients:
1 boneless chicken breast
2-3 cups water (or more depending on your sauce pan – you want to cover the chicken breast in the water when boiling)
3 Tablespoons Organic Pumpkin Puree (not the kind used in pumpkin pies but the organic 100% pure like this one we use Nummy Tum-Tum)
2 cups rice (boiled)
a small dash of salt

Directions:
Rinse the chicken breast under cold clean water.

Place the chicken breast in a saucepan large enough to hold the chicken breast. Add enough cold clean water 2-3 cup approximately to cover it. Add in a dash of salt.

Bring the water to the boil over high heat.

Reduce the heat to medium once water is boiling and cover the saucepan. Cook approximately 10 minutes over medium heat. Make sure the chicken meat is not pink and cooked properly.

Remove chicken breast from water and allow to rest. At least 5 minutes before shredding into small pieces. I use the leftover water to make my rice.

In another saucepan make your rice mixture.
2 Cups of Rice would need approximately 4 cups or water I
(rice is made at a 2:1 ratio) thus 2 cups water per one cup of rice.

Once the water and rice boils add in your 3 Tablespoons of Pumpkin Puree reduce your heat to very very low, mix well and cover the pan and allow the rice to absorb the water and pumpkin puree approximately 20 minutes depending on your grain of rice.

Once the rice is fluffy, add in your shredded chicken breast and serve in small portions once cool to the touch.

Do not worry if it takes time for your furry friend to be interested in eating again after a upset tummy, the pumpkin chicken broth rice will keep in the fridge and be easily reheated for when s/he is ready. Bone appetit.

My 5th birthday approaches next month, I can hardly believe I will be 5 years old!. According to a chart my mom found online … in human years that makes me 36. I think I should let my people know I need my own set of car keys so I can  drive myself to the store to buy the necessities in life like bones, balls, squeakies and treats. My people were so sweet they ordered me a birthday box from thebirthdaypuppy.com It was a surprise in a box.

Just look at the smile it brought to my face!

Art is everywhere… and in today’s world there is a lot of art that is something called a #selfie.

So we decided what if we turned it around and made the art create the selfie. So mom made me into a cartoon that painted a selfie. So which is the art? The cartoon? The selfie or the multimedia image?

So if a selfie is a portrait then it is art right? Ir is it a cultural phenomenon? Or a reflection of the world we are living in…the malleability of our own brand identity? Or are we acting out our own fictional storyline?

What do you think? Is that a smartphone I see in your hand? ART! Or ARF!
Love SADIE

This Years Lessons to be Thankful for: Woof

16354504 - christmas home decoration with tree, gifts and fireplace.
As I sit patiently waiting for Santa to come.  Well to really tell the truth I am not a patient dog, I already opened 2 gifts because I COULDN’T WAIT and Santa had left them right in the closet so his sleight was not so heavy when he made his rounds. I just hope that doesn’t make me eligible for that naughty list my mom keeps telling me about.

Anyhow, my lesson learned this year to take with me into the new shiny new year is this:

DROP IT.
LEAVE IT.
LET IT GO.

This may sound like a simple thing to do but it really isn’t.

For me it is about putting something in my mouth that might harm me,
my mom yells out:
DROP IT. DROP IT. DROP IT.

For people it is about forgiving, and moving on from something that might poison their heart and stink up their day/week/year/life unless they just Drop It. Leave It. Let It Go.

As I see it from my “four-legged” perspective it works like this: You see another pretty little dog with a stripe down it’s back… You approach with all good intentions of making a new friendship BUT then they spray you for no reason. OH the STINK! How mean of this new potential friend. You get MAD, you want revenge. You chase that D#MN poo-poo-pet off your property and you denounce any other “black and white” potential pal you see all the while huffing with disgust. For years you hold onto this grudge remembering the  stinking consequences of that nasty meeting. A BATH, and another BATH. Your humans humiliated you by holding their noses and plopping you in the sink time and time again.

You then keep this grudge against all things “black and white” rather than just leaving that anger behind you. You never let it go because of that one encounter. It ruins your days. It ruins anything good and you just can’t move on.

Well, no more, I forgive you mr. skunk. You probably were having a bad day yourself and I am leaving my anger behind me and moving on. I think I might visit to that new dog I saw move in across the way who is “black and white”, the one with the pretty long swishy tail that speaks in “meows”, must be a foreigner.

Yes I am not ever letting the past taint my future again.
Lesson Learned:
DROP IT.
LEAVE IT.
LET IT GO.

Have you learned a good lesson this year to be thankful for?
Love,
Sadie.

I am so excited, my two-legged pal and I were watching our favorite show The Jane Velez-Mitchell show on HLN.

The Jane Velez-Mitchell Show

The Jane Velez-Mitchell Show

Jane Velez-Mitchell takes a stand on the biggest topics of the day that people across the country are buzzing about. And today August 15th 2013 she talked about me! I was the buzz of the “Pet of the Day”

As Andy Warhol said in 1968 that “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” I got my short-lived media publicity today! Thank you Jane! Keep up the great stories. 4 paws up and and many wags rating!
