My mom loves to cook for me and here are two of my favorite Halloween Treats that I want to share with you. These are great trick or treats for us four legged monsters. First a little image to scare you or make you laugh cause that is what my mom does when I try to be scary… then the recipes.HALLOWEENSURGEONGENERALwarning-2-1.jpg
Recipe 1:
PUMPKIN APPLE FROZEN DOG TREATS
Ingredients
3/4 cup pumpkin puree
1 small apple, peeled and remember to remove the core then chopped into small bits
1 tbsp. coconut oil (we use this one)
1 tsp. honey (raw or pure organic honey is the best)
Water 2 small silicone molds (BOO) (skeletons and ghosts)
moldsforAPT
Instructions
Add pumpkin puree, apple, coconut oil, and honey to a blender.
Add a little water at a time and blend until smooth and liquefied.

Carefully spoon mixture into molds and freeze until solid.
Bone Chillingly delicious!

Recipe 2:
Easy as Pumpkin Pie HALLOWEEN DOG TREATS
Ingredients
1 single-serve jar of pumpkin/squash baby food (we used Organic Gerbers)
1/2 to 3/4 cup of rice flour, or other flour of your choice
water as needed
frozen green peas
Pumpkincookie.png
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F or 180C.

Mix baby food in a medium mixing bowl
Incrementally add flour, mixing into a firm dough.

The amount of flour required may vary depending on your individual pumpkin mixture and any optional ingredients your pup has requested.

Hand roll into small balls
Place balls on a lined baking sheet
Flatten gently with your hand or spoon.

To create “pumpkin lines”:
press the flat side of a fork or knife gently in the center, or the curved side of a spoon gently on either side.

Top with a green pea “stem” and gently push into the dough to secure the pea

Bake for approximately 15 minutes.
Cool before serving or storing.
Guaranteed to carve a smile on your pup’s face.

Santa Coming Down Chimney-Vintage

It is that time of year again, when we start the count down til Santa-paws comes to town! This time I am going to stay awake and watch him place all those goodies under the tree, for the last 4 years I have slept through it and I am determined to find out who he is and why he only comes once a year.

This year we are making Santa Chicken Waffles which is a dog friendly recipe!

The Grocery List:
1/2 cup Honey (you will want to to be runny)
1/2 cup Cooked Chicken Breasts (you will shred it up)
1 cup Gluten-Free Flour (we use Brown Rice Flour but you can use oat or other types)
1 cup Lactose-free Milk
1 Egg
1 t. Baking Powder

Direction:
In a large bowl crack the egg!
Whisk it up and
Add in the Lactose-free Milk
Whisk it up again
Add in the Honey
Whisk it up some more
Add in the gluten-free rice flour slowly while whisking so not to have lumps
you want the mixture to be moist but not too runny
Fold in your shredded cooked chicken pieces
add a little more lactose-free milk if it is too stiff but make sure it isn’t too runny

We cook ours in a waffle iron on #4

I like my waffles with a little un-sweetened apple sauce or when I have been sick with a little pumpkin puree. We have found a good product called Firmup by Diggin.

I am sure Santa-paws will love these as much as I do.

This year I have asked him for the following:
1. new blankie
1. new squeekie
1. new tiny ball
and lots of love to share with all the shelter pups so that they all find a fun forever home for the holidays and beyond!

I’m waiting, RIGHT HERE for new next 26 nite nites! Then I will stay up all night on the 27th day to see you fill my stocking!

SADIE_MIKI_WEEN

Bone-a-lickious Howl-o-ween Recipe

  • 1/2 cup pureed pumpkin
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Preheat the oven to 350F degrees.

Get out a cookie sheet, lined with a non-stick cooking mat.  Set aside.

Quickly stir the egg and pureed pumpkin together in a mixing bowl.
Add the flour and mix into a dough.
Flour your work surface.
Roll out dough to a 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut out shapes and place on cookie sheet. You can do bones, pumpkins, witches and ghosts. We like using the cookie cutters at Wilton.

Place cookie sheet in the hot monster in the kitchen the two-leggers call an oven and bake for 40 minutes.

Allow to fully cool before eating.

For extra crunchy Bake in the oven for another 5 -10 minutes and allow to cool.

Here’s Baking at you…Love Sadie…Woof em down
