Bone-a-lickious Howl-o-ween Recipe

  • 1/2 cup pureed pumpkin
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Preheat the oven to 350F degrees.

Get out a cookie sheet, lined with a non-stick cooking mat.  Set aside.

Quickly stir the egg and pureed pumpkin together in a mixing bowl.
Add the flour and mix into a dough.
Flour your work surface.
Roll out dough to a 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut out shapes and place on cookie sheet. You can do bones, pumpkins, witches and ghosts. We like using the cookie cutters at Wilton.

Place cookie sheet in the hot monster in the kitchen the two-leggers call an oven and bake for 40 minutes.

Allow to fully cool before eating.

For extra crunchy Bake in the oven for another 5 -10 minutes and allow to cool.

Here’s Baking at you…Love Sadie…Woof em down

SADIE_ICECREAM_2015_MAXWELLDOGWhat we four-leggers do for your two-legged pals. This last weekend was a fun event at Maxwell Dog in Studio City. They had famed photographer of us four-leggers Diana Lundin on hand to scoop up some of the yummiest and cutest images of dogs and ice cream. I must admit I was a bit timid and usually save my sweet tooth for pup-a-chino but Diana got some wonderful shots. Now go out and enjoy some ice cream with your pooch today! PS. Remember to serve your pet dog friendly ice cream. Love Sadie.

DOGGIE ICE CREAM RECIPE:
Ingredients:
· 1 ripe banana
· 1 cup of peanut butter
· 2 cups of natural plain yogurt
· 2 tbsps. of honey

Instructions:
1. Mash the banana and then stir it into the natural yogurt.
2. Warm the cup of peanut butter using a microwave or stove until it’s easy to stir.
3. Add the banana and yogurt mixture and the honey to the softened peanut butter.
4. Mix all ingredients until well-combined.
5. Pour the mixture into a non-stick container and then freeze overnight.

Woof it down!

I have a bone to pick when it comes to size. I see all the other dogs with their two-leggers doing some astonishing things…
Image
carrying large sticks they find on their walks, jumping in the air catching round flying objects, hanging out car windows with their ears flying and jowls flapping in the wind… it just gets my muzzle twitching green with envy. I am a big girl, in a few months I will be one year old and it finally dawned on me that I might never grow any larger than my current stature. I only weigh in at 4.5lbs and all the other four-leggers in my tricks classes are taller than me…even the puppies!

Speaking of my tricks class…woof… I learned a very useful trick…
the ringing of a bell.

Service Please!

Service Please!

5a

It seems as if this little bell is a service bell that when you ring it, people bring you lots and lots of treats.  What a joy, now I must find a way to take this bell home with us. If I was a larger dog I would just put it in my mouth and carry it out with us to the car.  But no, I am small and must hope that my people decide to give me one of these pretty bells for my birthday. It is so frustrating to be so small.

As I close my little blog today I think of all the privileges I get as a petite pup. I often get to ride in a  dog sling purse…you can get your own at sassypup. This purse sometimes gets me into places that the larger dogs can not go. Hmmm it’s not bad being small. Today’s thought… “Be happy for who you are, it makes you unique.”

Learning Tricks

I have embarked on a new class at the ZoomRoom called Tricks. I am excited to learn something new. Unfortunately the air conditioner was broken during our first class and it was very difficult to focus on new tricks let alone meet new people and their pets. It was a sauna in there. I am panting just thinking about it now. Everyone is much more advanced than myself, but I plan on practicing my sit pretty and wave this week so that I can move on to new tricks the other dogs were doing.

Just in case you might like to learn a few new tricks I will be giving you some tips on how I learn these fun tricks. All my tricks are learned under adult two legged supervision with positive training. You can read up on positive training from one of our favorite TV persona. Victoria Stilwell.

1. Sit Pretty.
This is one of my two legged people’s favorite tricks because I have to concentrate so hard that I often stick my tongue out while performing this trick. First have your two legged pal get one of your favorite treats, (I prefer ziwipeak treats). Sit in front of them. They will move their hand with the treat towards you, just above your head… but not too high. They say the magic words “sit pretty” and up I go, everyone smiles at this trick. It took a lot of patience and quite a few tries to get the trick right but it is a crowd-pleaser that I hope you try. (If you click on my photo you can see me in action)

2. Down.
I hate to admit this, but this was a very hard trick for me to learn. I knew sit, I learned sit pretty but down was just puzzling to me. I will explain how my two legged people finally got me to learn “down”. They had to sit with me and pay a lot of attention to my body language. We would do a few tricks which I would be rewarded for with lots of praise and sometimes a treat and in-between tricks they would say “down” and bring the treat to the ground. This didn’t work too well but then I would tire and they would praise me and repeat the word “down” it only took me a few times to realize that down meant laying on the floor. Odd trick but it really makes the two-leggers happy.

3. Bang. (This is what my people call it) some people call this “play dead”
Once I mastered “down” we started giving treats for the word “bang” which, honestly, I think is all about having one’s tummy rubbed.

I will be posting more later as my teacher at the ZoomRoom is going to try to teach me how to ring a bell. I plan on spending hours with my people learning these fun tricks.
