sadiexmasspirit18 copy.jpgThe holidays are here again and everyone is dashing around trying to grab the newest toy or tech gift for the best price and it is EXHAUSTING. Then you come home and find the real meaning of the holidays. It is in a tail wag or a meow at the door. Every day is a holiday for our four-legged pals. Even if you just go into another room and return there is a flurry of thankfulness that is undeniable.

We all need to learn this wonderful holiday spirit that our animals teach us.

Happy Holidays to everyone.

Love Sadie

PS: my mom just opened an Esty store. We are not asking you to buy anything, just go look and give it a thumbs up if you like it. She is so silly about making projects around the house. http://www.artdavinci.shop/shop

sadieeasterbasket18.jpgIt is always such a special time of year… spring has finally come making the sun shine bright and the flowers all pop their heads out of the ground… and of course, all the dogs wag their tails a bit more because their two-legged friends are more willing to go outside for a romp around the block.

This year I received two of my very own baskets.
One has this cute little mini-me Sadie inside.
It was made by Denise Thompson https://www.etsy.com/shop/PUGHALLVINTAGE. I really love it.
And one was a BIG surprise sent to me by my IG friend @leashihtzu who put cute little bows inside each sparkly egg. I love colorful bows in my hair! And the colorful Peeps squeak  … which is one of my favorite pastimes. I am quite musical … I can squeak my peeps to any tune on TV. 🙂 Easter is a magical time for family and friends… I hope you are having the most wonderful time with your family and friends.

Every dog needs to have their own Easter basket… did the Easter Bunny give you one?

SADIESWINGSILENCE18.jpgHi… I am the voice of your pet… I want you to know that I LOVE you, you are my hero every day even when you are sad, in a hurry, leaving to go to work or vacation without me. I LOVE YOU unconditionally. So today and every day please remember this.

Remember to give a little extra love to those who do not speak your language but speak only to you unconditionally in the wag or a tail, or the purr of LOVE.

sadiereturnsdec26th17_v4.jpgThank you, Santa for all my wonderful gifts under the tree this year. I loved the hedgehog that giggles and the lovely free dried treats of Venison and Liver. But unfortunately, there was this one gift that was missing its squeaker. Santa, I think you might be having a mild case of Alzheimer’s because you spelled the word Chew wrong on this box with the lovely red shoes inside. That’s OK Santa, I often forget things too. Sometimes I forget to tell anyone I need to go outside and make a mistake on the carpet. But the real problem with this “chew” toy is it was missing its squeaker. So if you do not mind exchanging this one out for one that works I would really appreciate it.

Merry Christmas to all.

I wanted to wag the tale of my new kickstarter campaign. It is an affirmation happy thoughts calendar. It will last for 30 days starting today. If you want to check it out or help me spread the word I would sure appreciate it.

Mom is going to take some of the profits to help other dogs that are less fortunate than I am so that they might find a loving home too.

As always I wish everyone a year full of puppy kisses and tail wags.

My 5th birthday approaches next month, I can hardly believe I will be 5 years old!. According to a chart my mom found online … in human years that makes me 36. I think I should let my people know I need my own set of car keys so I can  drive myself to the store to buy the necessities in life like bones, balls, squeakies and treats. My people were so sweet they ordered me a birthday box from thebirthdaypuppy.com It was a surprise in a box.

Just look at the smile it brought to my face!

sadie17springAs Easter and Passover come together in the calendar this year I wish the world “hope” for a better tomorrow. The world news has recently been ugly and seem to be hatred voracious feeders. With this spring we have hope that the world will turn towards a better tomorrow and change into the beautiful place that it can be.

We have been going through some changes in our house as well because my human has a very bad allergy. You can read about it here: https://salicylateallergy.wordpress.com/.

This change has been hard for me as some of my favorite foods have been banned from the kitchen. But this is just a change that has also brought some beauty into my life too. Now we are experimenting in the kitchen with a lot more meat and fish recipes which I think is a beautiful thing since I am the official house taster.  I will be having some new pet friendly recipe to share soon.

Wishing you all change, beauty, love and peace.

Little SuperheroToday I had to be the hero of not just my own story but my two-legged mommy. We were cooking one of my favorite dishes and had a nasty accident. My mom was using a strange contraption called a mandolin which I thought was for playing music but found out it is for cutting potatoes.

We were having fun then IT happened! Mommy let out a yelp like I have never heard. There was lots of other words being yelled too but I am not allowed to use words like that. There was blood everywhere, I know I had to be the hero… I helped by telling the entire house there was need for a MEDIC!!!! Thanks to my alert we were able to ally pressure and slow the bleeding. Mommy threw that nasty mandolin in the trash and we made my dinner minus a piece of mommies little finger.

THE RECIPE

  • 2 thin sliced potatoes (mom says do not use a Mandolin)
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup carrots
  • 1/2 cup broccoli
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 4 cups water or (beef/chicken broth)
  • cheese (I like gouda but you can use any melty cheese)

    DIRECTIONS
layer all your ingredients in a baking dish
cook 350 degrees for 45 minutes

Now I am off to be a hero again and sit with mommy as she ices her boo boo finger. I am a good nurse who gives lots of kisses.

This Years Lessons to be Thankful for: Woof

16354504 - christmas home decoration with tree, gifts and fireplace.
As I sit patiently waiting for Santa to come.  Well to really tell the truth I am not a patient dog, I already opened 2 gifts because I COULDN’T WAIT and Santa had left them right in the closet so his sleight was not so heavy when he made his rounds. I just hope that doesn’t make me eligible for that naughty list my mom keeps telling me about.

Anyhow, my lesson learned this year to take with me into the new shiny new year is this:

DROP IT.
LEAVE IT.
LET IT GO.

This may sound like a simple thing to do but it really isn’t.

For me it is about putting something in my mouth that might harm me,
my mom yells out:
DROP IT. DROP IT. DROP IT.

For people it is about forgiving, and moving on from something that might poison their heart and stink up their day/week/year/life unless they just Drop It. Leave It. Let It Go.

As I see it from my “four-legged” perspective it works like this: You see another pretty little dog with a stripe down it’s back… You approach with all good intentions of making a new friendship BUT then they spray you for no reason. OH the STINK! How mean of this new potential friend. You get MAD, you want revenge. You chase that D#MN poo-poo-pet off your property and you denounce any other “black and white” potential pal you see all the while huffing with disgust. For years you hold onto this grudge remembering the  stinking consequences of that nasty meeting. A BATH, and another BATH. Your humans humiliated you by holding their noses and plopping you in the sink time and time again.

You then keep this grudge against all things “black and white” rather than just leaving that anger behind you. You never let it go because of that one encounter. It ruins your days. It ruins anything good and you just can’t move on.

Well, no more, I forgive you mr. skunk. You probably were having a bad day yourself and I am leaving my anger behind me and moving on. I think I might visit to that new dog I saw move in across the way who is “black and white”, the one with the pretty long swishy tail that speaks in “meows”, must be a foreigner.

Yes I am not ever letting the past taint my future again.
Lesson Learned:
DROP IT.
LEAVE IT.
LET IT GO.

Have you learned a good lesson this year to be thankful for?
Love,
Sadie.
